Data Centre Clearances
Secure decommissioning and removal of servers, storage, networking and racks. Planned around your live environment, fully documented and finished with certified data destruction.
Overview
From a single cabinet to a full hall, cleared without risk
Data centre equipment holds your most sensitive data and some of your most valuable hardware. A clearance has to protect both, without disrupting the systems that stay live.
We plan every clearance with you, then decommission, de-rack and remove equipment with a trained team and dedicated vehicles. Storage media is wiped or destroyed, assets are serialised for your records where applicable, and hardware with remaining life is remarketed to offset the cost of the project.
Whether you are consolidating into the cloud, moving to a new colocation facility or refreshing your hardware, you get one partner and one point of contact from first survey to final report.
What we clear
- Rack, blade and tower servers
- SAN, NAS and storage arrays, with all HDDs and SSDs
- Switches, routers, firewalls and load balancers
- Tape libraries and backup media
- Server racks, cabinets and PDUs
- UPS units, cabling and ancillary equipment

Our process
How a clearance runs
A clear plan agreed in advance, so your team knows exactly what will happen, when, and who is responsible.
Survey & scope
We visit the site, review the equipment and access requirements, and agree timings around your operations.
Plan & quote
You receive a fixed scope, schedule and quote, including any value we can return on the hardware.
Decommission & remove
Our team de-racks, labels, packs and removes equipment, out of hours if needed.
Destroy, report, certify
Media is wiped or destroyed. You receive data destruction certificates and a serialised audit report where applicable.
Compliance
Documentation you can hand to your DPO
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, your organisation remains responsible for personal data until it is destroyed, even after equipment leaves your building.
Our documentation is designed to close that loop, giving you certified proof that your data has been destroyed.
| Serialised audit report | Provided where applicable |
|---|---|
| Data destruction certificate | Issued for data-bearing devices |
| Waste documentation | WEEE-compliant transfer notes for anything recycled |
| Licences | ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and Waste Carriers Licence, with AATF-approved and T11-exempt partners |
| References | Available from existing public sector and commercial clients |
FAQs
Data centre clearance questions
Can you work around equipment that is staying live?
Yes. We agree a plan with your team in advance, clearly label what is being removed, and can work evenings and weekends to avoid disruption to production systems.
Do you clear colocation suites as well as on-premises server rooms?
Yes. We work to the access and security procedures of the facility and coordinate directly with your provider where needed.
Will we get anything back for our hardware?
Often, yes. Servers, storage and networking equipment with remaining life can be refurbished and resold. Any value is reflected in your quote, and many clearances cost little or nothing as a result.
What happens to the hard drives and SSDs?
All data is securely destroyed to the level agreed with you, and you receive a data destruction certificate.
How quickly can you start?
We provide a quote within 24 hours of receiving your equipment list or completing a survey, and schedule the clearance around your timescales.
